When Molly pulled her awareness back from Will's mind it felt natural and gradual, disappearing at the same speed that Will's heartbeat calmed back to something more normal. He'd worried it would be abrupt, that it would leave them both feeling hollowed out and empty, but instead it was more like taking a deep breath releasing it, feeling centered and warm. He continued to hold Molly as she moved back enough to find his eyes, his grip on her relaxing as they locked their gazes.
He could feel Molly's exhaustion, bone deep, and he was glad he hadn't known what a drain it would be on her before he asked her to come into his mind, because he would have urged her not to do it. Now that they'd experienced it, he knew they'd want to do it again eventually, but he agreed that it wasn't something they should do every time, or even frequently. It was good, pleasurable and intense the way nothing else in Will's life had ever been (or would ever be), but it was almost too much for their bodies to contain, for their minds to comprehend.
Will moved a hand to cup Molly's jaw, and he kissed her back sweetly, his thumb brushing her cheek. "I didn't know anything could ever feel like that," he told her, agreeing. "It was so... There was so much," he said, again unable to describe it. "You are amazing, Molly. Everything about you." He leaned in to kiss her again, soft and gentle. "And you deserve a rest after tonight," he added, remembering that she'd already used a great deal of magic earlier to protect his dog from the spell that had fallen over the city.
