Will could feel the emotions cycle through Molly, but distantly, like he was reading it from her the way he did other people. He wasn't surprised that she felt the way she did, and as much as Will knew he'd missed some of the things other kids had taken for granted, his dad wasn't a terrible person. He just wasn't emotionally equipped or remotely prepared to be a single parent.

Will was glad when Molly's feelings shifted, feeling warmth running up along his arm from where he was touching her knee. He rubbed at the point of her kneecap with his middle finger, a benign gesture, but one he hoped would ring reminiscent of other ways he'd touched her. "I like brunch," he said, licking his lips, thinking about the taste of her, imagining what it would feel like to wake her up with his mouth on her skin and a hand pressing between her thighs.
